What is EditBoost?

  • EditBoost is a free service for editors, content owners and content providers to manage and control video content. 
  • EditBoost is now in beta. We are currently gathering feedback on how real-life users benefit from EditBoost so that we can provide the most valuable final product to the Post Production and DAM community. 
  • What are EditBoost index files?
  • EditBoost index files provide a methodology for indexing and tracking your video content. EditBoost index files are in effect, the ultimate video time-code. EditBoost uses a unique visually-based technique for generating metadata for video.

What does the EditBoost system look like?

  • EditBoost is a client-server system.

The EditBoost Client:

• Generates MPF video indexes on your local machine
• Manages index data on the server
• Sends commands to the search engine server
• Displays search results

The EditBoost server:

• Receives commands from the EditBoost client
• Executes the client’s commands and returns the results
• Maintains a personal database of indexes for your video content

How do I get the service?

  • Register and install the EditBoost client

Does EditBoost affect the video content in any way?

  • No, EditBoost analyzes the video content visually and stores new metadata in separate files without touching the original content.

What Formats, Compression Rates and Aspect Ratios are supported?

  • EditBoost can index and conform any video formats.

How long does it take to generate EditBoost index files time?

  • Indexing video files takes approximately 10 millisecond per frame on a standard PC.

How big are the index files?

  • Index files range in size from 1 to 3 megabytes per hour of content.
