What’s holding you back from achieving your goals in your editing business? Is it time to overcome these fears and make the progress you’ve been dreaming about? Join me as I ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’. I’m a business coach for editors and I’m putting myself out there in this podcast so I can share with you my experience in developing my editing business.
It’s common for self-employed people to have an idea but avoid doing it because:
· it’s too scary
· it’s too hard, or
· no-one is going to be there making me do it, so I won’t do it.
What’s the answer? I’m here on this podcast because I decided to share with all of you my experience as a business coach for editors. I’m excited to be releasing my podcast… finally! It took me two years to build up the courage!
Let me introduce the Edit Boost Podcast.
If you are an editor of fiction, non-fiction, technical, academic, it doesn’t matter what the content is, if you edit words, this podcast is for you.
But it’s particularly aimed at self-employed editors.
I’m seeing a lot of experienced editors starting out as freelancers or self-employment, but lacking experience in running a business. Without clients and income, you have no business.
This podcast is for you if you’ve started out on your own, realised you have no clients and you’re not sure what you’re supposed to do.
Who am I? I’m Malini Devadas. I’ve been a professional editor for 16 years.
I started with 10 years in-house editorial experience. I earned my skills through a mix of formal and on-the-job training.
I’ve now set up my own business as an academic editor.
Over the last few years, I’ve developed a keen interest in all things marketing. I’ve connected with many other business owners and learned how people in different industries navigate online marketing.
I’ve discovered inspiration in the field of coaching, and now I’m training as a coach and applying those skills to help other editors make more money. This is something I feel driven to do as a business coach for editors, guiding others to grow their incomes by charging more for their time, to work less hours so they can enjoy the money they’re earning.
I’ve set up the Edit Boost Podcast to help as many people as I can.
Don’t do what I do. Don’t wait 2 years to try something you’ve wanted.
You’ll need to overcome these fears and get on with building your business.
Join me in feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
